Astrology questions, answered simply

Why don't I feel like my sun sign?

The short answer

Your Sun sign is only one part of your chart. If your Moon, rising sign or several planets sit in other signs, they can easily outweigh the Sun, so the sign you read about doesn't sound like you.

A little more detail

Sun sign descriptions are written for everyone born in the same month, which is about one in twelve people. Your full chart has ten planets and a rising sign, often spread across five or six different signs.

For example, a Leo Sun with a Virgo rising and a Capricorn Moon may come across as careful and reserved rather than loud. The Leo is still there, it just isn't the first thing people see.

Questions people ask

Could my sun sign be wrong?

If you were born on the day the Sun changed sign (a cusp), the exact time and place decide which sign it was. Otherwise your Sun sign is right, it is just one part of you.

Is it normal not to relate to your zodiac sign?

Yes, very normal. Most people are a mix of several signs, and the Sun is only one of them.

What is a cusp?

Being born near the change from one sign to the next. You still have one Sun sign, but your birth time decides which one.
